My family has rented a beach house in Litchfield over Thanksgiving and we are mostly Italian and like to try local restaraunts. I was wondering if anyone would recommend an Italian Restaraunt on the South Strand. Thanks

My favorite is Pastaria 811, in the exchange at Litchfield. The food is outstanding.

Pastaria 811 is excellent. Another great choice is Old World Italian in Murrells Inlet SC. Go see George, he and his wife will prepare your request, "That's Amore'!"

I would definitely say that Pastaria is the best. Thay also have the best pizza, if you like New York style.

Go north to Garden City - there is a place called Nico's - excellent food & prices.  It is across from the Big Shark in the Plaza with the big monkey left hand side if you are going north. Pastaria 811 is good also.

Has anyone tried Rocco's in Pawleys?

I ate at Rocco's for lunch last year - didn't do much for me - so I haven't been back.  The service was good - food was good not great - price seemed high for what I got.

I really like Gionatti's in Pawleys, they have great pizza, maybe a little on the expensive side, but I think it is worth it.

You have to go see George at Old World Italian in Murrells Inlet. He is a character that you just have to love. He makes you feel like family, the kind of personal touch so many restaraunts lack. The food it outstanding. As George says it "Love at first bite"

I used to go to Old World - I will never go there again - service was sub par - and George sat a group of golfers before me and my family - and I was a regular - then sat us by the kitchen - very bad outing - food was never that great but wanted to eat at a place where I knew the owners - even his family quit him.

Carmen -
When they first opened I was disappointed in the place.
We had take out one night & the portions were big....lots of left overs for lunch the next day.
We've gone back in for sit down and it was great!
They've re-adjusted and the service, price and food portions... in my opinion Steak and Pasta is excellent.

Old World and Pastaria 811 are great. A newer restaurant in Pawleys is Bove. I love it.
